Talk:The Fabric of Reality

From Simulism

[edit] A note on my summary

I read the Fabric of Reality several years ago, and found it quite challenging. Recently I re-read it, and it began to make a lot of sense. There are some issues with the text, and I do not believe that Deutsch is actually correct in many of his assertions, and some arguments do not hold water. However, that said, there is a lot in the book which is thought-provoking, and it is highly relevant to simulism in very many ways, especially the sections on virtual reality and computationalism.

The Chapter summaries are as brief as I felt I could make them, while still giving both a flavour of the arguments and the essence of their conclusions. I realise that this is probably one of the lengthiest articles on the Wiki, but I believe this is justified, in that it is a crucial text for anyone who wishes to challenge the conventional view of reality.
